Creating musical opportunities
since 1981.
-
The IOSP program provides opportunities to hear, learn and perform orchestral music for the youth and adults in Northern Minnesota.
-
In 1981, the then-named Itasca Orchestral Society (IOS) was established by a group of teachers, musicians, and music lovers. Since its inception, our community orchestra has staged three to four symphony concerts per year, collaborated with guest and local artists, and provided opportunities for youth and adults within a near 50-mile radius to learn, perform, and enjoy music.
In the past few years, we’ve established a rewarding partnership with our string quartet in residence (Third Coast Chamber Collective), hired three new teachers, and expanded our programming to include an early music class for pre-K students and a summer chamber music camp for adults.
