Babette Allen,Violin Instructor

Babette Allen began her musical journey playing violin in the orchestra at Lafayette Elementary School in San Francisco, California. Through high school she studied with David Schneider of the San Francisco Symphony. Following that she spent time with Jacob Krachmalnick, David Able, and other visiting and local violinists, wherever she might be. Babette spent over 30 years playing violin and viola with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (formerly the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra).  Additionally, she has played with other local orchestras, string quartets and is currently playing with the Itasca Symphony Orchestra.

Babette is a cross-genre violinist/fiddler. She is a former Arkansas State Fiddle Champion, has taught at Jana Jae’s Fiddle Camp in Grove, Oklahoma for over 20 years, and has also taught at Mark O’Connor’s Fiddle Camp in Nashville and in San Diego. Babette has been a private teacher for many years for mostly violin/fiddle students. Other students have taken piano, guitar, mandolin and cello, and occasionally her public school students have wandered into their lessons with their French horns, trumpets and clarinets for a little help! Babette’s students range from the very young to the very adult and for years she has taught students remotely as well as in person. Babette’s CD, “Rayna’s Waltz”, is a combination of both worlds.
